Gianluca Bellavia
Type of Governor: Foundation
Link Governor Role:Â Catholic Life/Collective Worship
I am Gianluca Bellavia, known as Gian to most people. I was born in Wolverhampton and attended St Edmundâs back when it was a school not an academy (2006-2013). Once leaving sixth form, I studied Pharmacy at the University of Birmingham, whilst working as a store assistant at Aldi on the weekends. After a year of studying, I decided that Pharmacy wasnât going to be my long term career path. Instead, I progressed through the ranks at Aldi over the following 3 years and finally became a Store Manager, to which I still hold the position. I have a wife, who also attended St Edmundâs, and we have an 18 month old daughter who keeps us busy! I attend SS Peter and Paulâs in the parish of Blessed Carlo Acutis, where you will regularly see me playing the organ during Sunday service. This will be my first post as a school Governor and I am grateful to be posted at St Edmundâs. I am keen to see the faith still embedded in all that is taught.

Lee Harris
Type of Governor: Staff
Link Governor Role:Â Safeguarding
I grew up in Wednesfield and went to Wednesfield High School. I left school with underwhelming results and did an apprenticeship in pipe fitting for two and a half years (providing me with some good Year 11 assembly material). After an uncertain period I returned to college and then gained a degree in English Studies from Sheffield Hallam University. In my 20s my preoccupation was with travel and I embarked on two round the world trips. I also worked at the Jobcentre and then Prospects Careers Service / Connexions, where I worked on information and publications, as well as developing careers libraries in schools across the Black Country. I retrained as a teacher at the age of 34, which I now wish I had done a bit earlier. I have now completed 16 years at St Edmund's, where my current role is Head of Upper School, alongside teaching English and Film Studies. It is a continuing pleasure to be a part of this community. I live locally with my partner and stepson.

Michael Shipley
Type of Governor: Foundation, Vice Chair
Link Governor Role: Behaviour & Attitudes, Safeguarding
My name is Mike Shipley, I grew up in North Staffs. At school I was not the best student, much preferring rugby and being outdoors. At 17 I joined the Royal Air Force as an Avionics Engineer, a job I held for the next 30 years. I was lucky enough to work with some fantastic people and visit over 40 countries. I was involved in designing and delivering military engineering training for over 10 years. I now work as a lecturer delivering engineering training to students up to degree level. For my education I left school with 4 O levels and 3 CSEs; I received a HND in Engineering as a part of my trade training in the RAF, and I also studied with the Open University to gain a Science Degree and Post Graduate qualifications in Maths and Science Education. A Catholic, I've been married for over 30 years and have 4 children, all have now left school and are working or at university.
