The RE curriculum at St Edmund’s allows students, of all faiths, a programme of study to develop their character and moral perspective in light of the Gospel values so that we build our lives on the image of Christ and to guide pupils to see all humans as God sees us, His most precious gift. The aim of the curriculum is to not only deliver the subject as outlined by the diocesan curriculum, but to help our students gain skills for life; compassion, empathy and understanding of the world around us through the use of Catholic Social Teaching to enable them to appreciate the world, and not just tolerate it. We aim to do this through high challenge, the use of religious and ethical sources and deeper learning skills.
