We are so proud of Zenab, one of our Year 13 students, for representing the ConnectFutures Youth Advisory Board. Zenab was invited by Shout Out UK to the APPG on Political and Media Literacy & Youth Affairs to weigh in on the proposed social media ban.

For Zenab, the experience was about more than just a trip to London; it was about representation.
“Being one of only a couple of people from the West Midlands, it felt empowering to represent our county in policy making,” Zenab shared. “Myself and a couple of other young people discussed our views on this issue and suggested solutions around social media and who to hold accountable.”
The day included a visit to the public gallery to watch live debates and take in the incredible history of the building. But the biggest takeaway? The power of the platforms themselves.
“One thing I took away was how I landed this opportunity through simply scrolling on social media. It is incredibly important for young people’s opinions and voices to be heard… having my opinion heard shows that hard work does pay off!”
Well done, Zenab! We can’t wait to see the impact you continue to make. 👏💼
