Pupils enjoyed an after-school pond-dipping adventure in the sunshine as Eco Club and German Club joined forces to discover the wildlife in our pond.

Led by a wildlife expert from Smestow Valley nature reserve, we discovered the water teeming with life, including many baby smooth newts. This was a fantastic indicator of a healthy pond following the conservation work we have done over the last couple of years. The German Club expanded their linguistic skills, learning new vocabulary to describe their observations in German.

The next joint outing being planned is to spot butterflies in the nature reserve – all pupils are welcome, and so please let Ms Alsop or Mrs Carpenter know if you would like to come along.
