Congratulations to seven St Edmund’s x-country runners, who competed in the city races last week. They all ran very well and coped with the undulating and muddy course successfully.
Runners that came in the top 6 in their age group qualified to run for Wolverhampton on Saturday at Himley Park.
Three out of our 7 runners qualified:
Kaleah Moulder = 4th place
Amira Moulder = 6th place
Rocio Okeke = 6th place.
Good luck on Saturday!
To put the icing on the cake, our Year 8/9 girls team were crowned CITY CHAMPIONS in the team event! Well done to Kaleah Moulder, Amira Moulder, Daisy Winwood and another Student, you all did fantastically well and your efforts certainly paid off!
Last week, Wolverhampton Girls High School proudly hosted the Year 7 Netball Hub, allowing our students to engage in friendly matches against other schools. It was an exciting day of competition, teamwork, and skill development.
We were thrilled to have two of our Year 12 students, Megan Morgan & Tilly Clothier, on board as coaches, providing guidance and support to the younger players throughout the day. Additionally, one of our Year 11 students, Sienna Kaur, who is currently working towards her umpiring qualification, took on the important role of umpiring the matches, gaining valuable experience in the process.
The event was a fantastic success, with all participants thoroughly enjoying the experience. We look forward to taking part in the next hub and continuing to build on the skills and enthusiasm shown by our players

Meet Tabitha Kirby, our 2023/24 Head Prefect. Since leaving St Edmund’s Sixth Form in July 2024, Tabitha has embarked on her higher education journey in Geology and Physical Geography at the University of Birmingham. Tabitha was kind enough to let us in on a glimpse of a Day in the Life of an ex-Sixth Form Prefect!
Morning guys! Join me for a day as a geology and physical geography student.
To get to Uni I get a lift to the train station and then get a train before walking to my campus and finding my lecture.
And of course, Food is fuel so I treated myself to a croissant and a rhubarb lemonade.
Walking to my first lecture studying Stratigraphical Measurements and Tutorial Meeting.
Lecture Time! We learnt about what Stratigraphy is and the different types of rock recognition.
All done and same journey home! Thank you for spending the day with me!
The St Edmund’s Sixth Form prefects are thrilled to introduce their very first podcast featuring Principal Mrs Hazeldine! This exciting new venture aims to engage the school community and provide a platform for insightful discussions about school life.
In this inaugural episode, the prefects will delve into Mrs Hazeldine’s journey to becoming a principal, sharing the experiences and challenges she faced along the way. Listeners will gain a deeper understanding of her vision for St Edmund’s and the dedication required to lead an educational institution. As we embark on this journey, let’s remember the words of Saint Oscar Romero: “Aspire not to have more but to be more.” reflecting our commitment to personal growth and community enhancement.
Additionally, the podcast will highlight memorable moments from Mrs Hazeldine’s time at St Edmund’s, giving students a chance to connect with the school’s history and its vibrant community. This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to listen, learn, and reflect on what makes St Edmund’s a special place.
Tune in to catch this engaging conversation and join the prefects as they embark on this exciting new chapter! https://www.
