Karis’s incredible basketball story began right here at St. Edmund’s Academy, where she first picked up a basketball and discovered a passion for the sport. Her drive and natural athleticism quickly stood out, leading her to join the Wolverhampton Slam Basketball Club to develop her skills further.

Her rise through the ranks was nothing short of meteoric. Through relentless practice, determination, and hard work, Karis established herself as one of the most promising young talents in the region—culminating in a dream milestone last summer when she was selected to represent the Great Britain U16 Girls Basketball Team.

The Next Chapter

Taking the next major step in her athletic and academic journey, Karis has now been accepted into the prestigious Ipswich Basketball Academy—one of the premier elite development programs in the country.

At Ipswich, Karis will be:

• Training & competing alongside top-tier talent from across the UK under elite-level coaching.

• Studying A-Levels, balancing a demanding academic schedule with high-performance sports training.

Everyone at St Edmund’s Academy couldn’t be prouder of Karis and everything she has achieved so far. Her journey from school gym courts to the national team serves as a huge inspiration to our entire school community.
