Young Professionals is a company that helps thousands of school students to accelerate their careers in apprenticeship and work experience programs. As a Year 12 studying Maths, Economics, Physics and Further Mathematics, this program was recommended by my Head of Year.

Working with prestigious companies, Young Professionals offers many webinars and live events and it has been reassuring to find out that the main objective of companies is to employ people based on their qualities and personalities, not just the grades they achieve. It has been amazing to hear this from companies such as PCW and CIMA.

The Birmingham Banking and Finance live event was a great way for me to get an insight into this career path and how companies offer programmes, such as a degree apprenticeship, paying for you to go to uni and then providing a job with their company as soon as you qualify. It is an incredible thought to be debt-free and employed straight after finishing university.

The in-person event was also amazing, as we were able to network with the companies there who were interested to hear about our aspirations and help us in meeting our goal, either through their company or another they could recommend.

The main reason I have been so impressed with Young Professionals is that the owners are two 23-year-old friends, one of whom was a dropout at the age of 17 and the other had the “worst day of my life” after gaining 3 Cs at A-level and not being able to go to his chosen university. After having a conversation with them, I realised how genuine both Dan and Josh were and how willing they were to help undecided young people with great skills and qualities to find their career path.
