Five of our Year 8 Computer Science students attended “Girls in Tech – Discovering Data and AI”. In the heart of Birmingham’s financial district, they spent the day delving into the world of data-driven enterprise, exploring the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) on predictive solutions.
Throughout the day, the students engaged in discussions about the current limitations of AI and the innovative solutions businesses are developing to enhance outcomes while considering ethical implications. As part of the event, they developed software to recommend tourist activities, mirroring the functionality of popular apps used daily on smartphones.
Hosted by Kainos Group plc, a global leader in delivering digital services, in collaboration with the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE), this event was an inspiring and invaluable Computing and careers opportunity for our students. We would like to thank Kainos and NCCE for making this experience possible.
