What a great night and a good turn out! 75 year 7 students came along to the Year 7 Welcome Disco held on Wednesday 9 November to ‘throw some shapes’ on the dance floor and generally have fun! Sixth Formers, Simranjeet Singh and Kishan Dass provided the music and did a wonderful job, with staff, to support the event. Glow sticks, refreshments and sweets were available from the Tuck Shop. £60 was raised during the evening which will be put towards the Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party in December.

Celebrations took place this afternoon to mark the 60th birthday of our Head Chef, Mrs Dhaliwal. Mrs Dhaliwal, who has been with us since 2002, was presented with flowers and gifts from staff. An afternoon tea for Mrs Dhaliwal was arranged by the Catering Team in the Boardroom and we anticipate that she will be celebrating for a few days to come! Whilst blowing out candles, Mrs Dhaliwal commented ‘It was a complete surprise – I was told what time to come!’. All staff and students wish her a wonderful birthday!

Scotland 1915. A group of teenagers from two families meet for a picnic, but the war across the Channel is soon to tear them away from such youthful pleasures. All too soon, the horror of what is to become known as The Great War engulfs them, their friends and the whole village. From the horror of the trenches, to the devastating reality seen daily by those nursing the wounded, they struggle to survive – and nothing will ever be the same again.
