Good luck to Ginevra Mensio (Year 7) who is attending the Basketball England Aspire Super Region Camp at the Doug Ellis Centre, Birmingham, this weekend.
Aspire aims to develop the basketball and life skills of talented 11-15 year olds, who have the potential to play for England and Great Britain.
Ginevra, best wishes for your camp this weekend – I am sure you will be fantastic and play with passion and determination.
On Friday 24th November the Lower School Prefects (Victoria Kidson, Daisy Winwood, Pauline Prause, Kash Kumar, Oliver Green, Noah Letheren and Jayden Inigo) mentored some Y7 pupils in certain subjects and areas.
This was fantastic to see and all the pupils got lots from the session. The prefects developed their communication and presenting skills and the Y7 pupils learnt more about their subjects. Keep up the good work all.
Mr Selvey
Head of Lower School
It gives me great pleasure to announce that Jayden Inigo, Noah Letheren, Kash Kumar, Oliver Green, Paulina Prause, Victoria Kidson and Daisy Winwood have been selected as the Lower School Prefects.
All pupils involved submitted fantastic letters of application and the interviews showed off their strengths. I would like to congratulate all those who were part of the process and you really are a credit to the academy.
Mr Selvey (Head of Lower School).
David Osifo, a Year 11 student, was called up to the Austria under-16s squad for two friendly matches against Slovenia earlier this month.
David started, played 67 minutes, and claimed an assist in the first game, a 6-1 victory, before coming on for the final 22 minutes as Austria claimed another win, this time by two goals to one.
Congratulations to David for making his debut for Austria and helping to secure the 2-1 victory over Slovenia.

The voting process is now finished, and students have determined the charities they wish to support this academic year. Notably, students are already devising strategies to surpass the previous year’s fundraising total of £3,072.

By donning pink attire and participating in related activities, we can show their dedication to alleviating suffering and promoting the well-being of all, in accordance with the teachings of Christ.

Blessed Carlo Acutis, often referred to as the “Cyber Apostle of the Eucharist,” was a remarkable young Catholic who lived from 1991 to 2006. Despite his short life, Carlo left a profound impact on the Church and the world. He had an exceptional devotion to the Holy Eucharist and used his talent in computer programming to create an online catalog of Eucharistic miracles worldwide, sharing the beauty and significance of this sacrament with countless people. His life of faith, humility, and love for others serves as an inspiring example for today’s youth and all believers. Carlo’s beatification in 2020 underscores his status as a role model for young Catholics and a testament to the potential of holiness even in a digital age.

World Mental Health Day, observed on October 10th, is an important occasion for us to reflect on the significance of mental health within the context of faith. Mental health is an integral part of a person’s overall well-being, reflecting the inherent dignity of every individual created in God’s image. It is a day to remember that seeking help for mental health challenges is not a sign of weakness but a courageous step toward healing and a reminder of the importance of compassion and support for those who may be struggling. It serves as an opportunity for us to pray for and promote mental health awareness, encouraging empathy, understanding, and community outreach as we follow the teachings of Christ to love and care for one another, especially the vulnerable and those facing mental health difficulties.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7
